Who wins the game of life? It’s not a competition, yet so often we play against each other, not with each other.

The Humano Ludens project seeks to shift this attitude, by teaching people ways to coexist. This will not be done through political or religious dogma, but through a series of transformational systems and ideas. Each idea is meant to address a particular problem in society. Put together, they can help us achieve a healthier world.
Let’s learn to play, not against each other, but together.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Humano Ludens currently working on?
Good question! Check out the project roadmap for detailed information about the project’s future and current plans, as well as what is actively being worked on.
Who created the Humano Ludens project?
Hi, I’m Freeman, creator of the Humano Ludens project. I participate in many things: art, design, renegade academia, and more. I’ve volunteered for over two years at ayahuasca ceremonies, even helping to facilitate them in the latter portion of that time. In the ‘normal’ part of my life, I’m a web designer. This site isn’t about me, though, it’s about the project.
Humano Ludens is the result of years of study across multiple disciplines. It draws from the writings of many experts in fields as varied as economics and chemistry. The goal is to make important, though sometimes obscure and complicated, ideas accessible to everyone. Go, read the blueprint for yourself!
I currently manage this project myself, although with your support I may be able to afford help in the future. I encourage you to look around the site, and to visit the Humano Ludens Discord community.
Is the Humano Ludens project complicated?
While some ideas covered by the project are complicated by their nature, there’s an “Explain it like I’m five” blueprint that features simplified explanations of each system and idea. If you still find yourself stuck, or confused, consider hopping into the Humano Ludens Discord community and asking for help.
Once you’re ready for more detailed explanations, visit the blueprint. When you’re ready to dive even deeper, check out the resources in each blueprint article.
Is Humano Ludens conservative or liberal?
The Humano Ludens project isn’t about ideology, it’s about systems and ideas. The benchmark for a system or idea advocated by the project is that it is functional, non-authoritarian, and fair. Ideologies are broad and ever-shifting political umbrellas. Think for yourself. Analyze the systems and ideas in this project on their own merit.
Is Humano Ludens about the individual, or about society?
It’s about both!
Ultimately, every individual is responsible for their own choices. No one can force another person to make good decisions (Although it’s possible to teach someone what good behavior looks like). Furthermore, even the best systems will fail when managed by corrupt people. The most important thing is love, which people must find for themselves.
That being said, as social creatures, our actions affect one another. Good systems may not be able to fix people, but bad systems can certainly make their lives much more difficult! That’s why it’s important to address societal reforms, even while acknowledging individual responsibility.
